Which credit monitoring service should I choose? +
IdentityIQ is our primary recommendation — they provide full 3-bureau reports with FICO® 8 scores (the same scores 90% of lenders use). SmartCredit is also excellent with a lower monthly price and ScoreBuilder tools. Both work seamlessly with DisputeHive.
I can't log into my account. What should I do? +
Click "Forgot Password" on the login screen and enter your account email. A reset link will be sent within a few minutes — check your spam folder. If you still can't access your account after resetting, email
[email protected] with your full name and the email you used to register.
How do I upload my credit report? +
Log into your monitoring provider, download your full 3-bureau report as a PDF or CSV, then log into DisputeHive and click "Upload Report" in your dashboard. Our AI analyzes it instantly and displays all negative items ranked by removal probability and score impact.
Can I update my personal information in DisputeHive? +
Yes — go to Settings inside your DisputeHive portal to update your name, address, and other personal details. Keep your address current as it appears on all your dispute letters. Your first attack typically includes an address update letter to the bureaus anyway.
How often should I send attacks? +
Every 40 days. Bureaus legally have 30 days to respond. Sending every 40 days gives them time to respond while keeping consistent pressure. Do not go longer than 40 days — momentum and consistency drive results.
What are the different dispute strategies? +
Factual Dispute: Challenges accuracy of reported info under FCRA § 611
Metro 2 Compliance: Challenges violations in how data is reported
Consumer Law: Invokes FCRA and FDCPA consumer protection rights
Debt Verification: Demands collector prove the debt under FDCPA § 809
Our AI recommends the best strategy for each item automatically.
Should I send all letters at once or one at a time? +
Send all letters generated in a single attack at the same time. The letter numbers (1, 2, 3) represent each bureau or creditor being targeted — they are not separate rounds. Send them all together, then wait 40 days before your next round.
What happens if a bureau doesn't respond? +
Non-response is a common delay tactic. Under FCRA § 611(a), if a bureau fails to respond within 30 days, the disputed item must be removed. Don't panic — send your next attack at the 40-day mark. DisputeHive automatically escalates the language in each subsequent round.
When should I file a CFPB complaint? +
Only after completing at least 4 attack rounds. Filing too early often results in auto-closure. After 4+ rounds you have a stronger paper trail. Visit
consumerfinance.gov/complaint to file. Keep sending DisputeHive attacks even while your CFPB complaint is open.
Can DisputeHive remove accurate negative items? +
DisputeHive challenges items by requiring bureaus to verify them under FCRA standards. Even accurate items can be removed if the bureau cannot adequately verify them within the statutory timeframe. However, we cannot guarantee removal of any specific item — individual results vary.
What's the difference between automated mail and DIY download? +
Automated Mail (paid): We handle everything — printing, envelope stuffing, and USPS First-Class mailing via our partner Lob. No post office trip required. You pay a per-attack fee and receive status updates as it progresses.
DIY Download (free): Download your letters as a PDF, print at home, fold, stuff envelopes, add stamps, and mail from your local post office. Completely free but requires more effort.
How long does automated mailing take to deliver? +
Letters are typically printed and entered into the USPS mail stream within 1 business day of your order. USPS First-Class delivery typically takes 3-5 business days. Total time from order to bureau receipt: approximately 4-6 business days.
What if my mailed letter is returned or rejected? +
If you used automated mailing and a letter is returned undelivered, email
[email protected] and we'll arrange a free resend. We keep bureau mailing addresses updated. If you used DIY mail and it was returned, check the bureau address and resend with the corrected address.
Does DisputeHive offer certified mail? +
Automated mail uses USPS First-Class, which is the standard for credit disputes. Bureaus are not required to sign for mail. If you want certified mail with return receipt, use the DIY download option and send it yourself via certified mail at your local post office.
How do I track my mailed letters? +
For automated mail, check your Mailing tab in the DisputeHive dashboard — it shows statuses: Pending → Printed → Mailed. You also receive email updates at each stage. Note: USPS First-Class does not include individual package tracking numbers — status updates reflect Lob's print and dispatch confirmation.
How long until I see score improvements? +
Most users see their first removals and score improvements after 2-3 attack rounds (60-120 days). For comprehensive improvement plan for 6-12 rounds over 6-12 months. Pair disputes with good habits: pay bills on time, keep credit utilization at 1-6%, and limit hard inquiries.
Why is my score different on different platforms? +
Different platforms use different scoring models (FICO 8, FICO 9, VantageScore 3.0) and pull from different bureaus on different dates. Always compare your score on the same platform over time — never compare Credit Karma to IdentityIQ, for example. They use different models entirely.
Why did my score go down after disputing? +
A temporary dip can happen when a dispute triggers a re-review of your account. This is normal and usually corrects itself within 30-60 days. Also check for: new hard inquiries, increased credit utilization, or any missed payments — these affect your score independently of disputes.
What score do lenders actually look at? +
90% of lenders use FICO® 8 scores from one or more of the three bureaus (Experian, Equifax, TransUnion). IdentityIQ provides all three FICO® 8 scores, which is why we recommend it as your monitoring partner. VantageScore is useful for tracking trends but is not what most lenders use.
How much does DisputeHive cost? +
DisputeHive is free to use with an active IdentityIQ or SmartCredit monitoring subscription. The only fees are if you choose automated mailing — you pay a per-attack fee that covers printing + USPS postage. Downloading and mailing letters yourself is always free.
How do I cancel my credit monitoring subscription? +
Contact your monitoring provider directly — DisputeHive cannot cancel these subscriptions:
•
IdentityIQ: identityiq.com•
SmartCredit: smartcredit.comNote: If you cancel monitoring, you will lose access to DisputeHive's AI features until you resubscribe.
How do I claim the 110% Money-Back Guarantee? +
Email
[email protected] with: your full name, account email, documentation of starting and current credit scores (same bureau, same model), proof of 6+ completed rounds, and proof of continuous monitoring. We process claims within 10 business days. See our
Guarantee page for full eligibility requirements.
Can I get a refund on an automated mailing order? +
Once an order is in Printed or Mailed status, it cannot be refunded as the physical mail has been prepared. If your order is still in Pending status, email
[email protected] immediately and we'll attempt to cancel it. Orders typically move to Printed within hours of submission.
